Observation and Document

Hi holly am Barani Ravikumar,

I observed a child building a tall tower with different-sized blocks. The child carefully placed each block, checked if it was balanced, and kept trying when the tower fell down.

This was a highlight because the child showed concentration, patience, and problem-solving skills. The child also demonstrated creativity by choosing different blocks and deciding how to build the tower.

I documented the observation by taking a photograph and writing a short learning story. I included the child’s words, actions, and the skills they demonstrated, such as persistence, coordination, and early mathematics.

While working with children, there’s  always something that highlights me. I have a toddler which I saw her cooking the same way as an adult does. She was pretending baking cookies in the oven. While checking her cookies in the oven,  she kept wearing mittens so that she can’t get burn. I was amazed that she might saw her mother or grand mother cooking but she kept in her mind that how important it is to wear mittens while cooking.
I documented and mentioned about her developing observational skills, problem-solving and imaginational skills along with fine motor skills.

Recently, I observed a child playing with a puzzle. The child tried different pieces, looked carefully at the shapes, and kept trying until they found the correct place.

This was a highlight for me because the child showed concentration, patience, and problem-solving skills.

I documented the observation by taking a photo and writing a short note about what the child did and the skills they demonstrated.
